Accounts & Bookkeeping – Free Workspace for Business and Home

Free double-entry accounts for small businesses and households. Runs in your browser, nothing uploaded, with Excel, PDF and CSV exports and templates.

Workspace

Two ways into the same private workspace: full double-entry bookkeeping for freelancers and small businesses, or a friendlier household mode for family budgets, bills and debts.

What the Accounts workspace is

The Accounts workspace is a free bookkeeping app that runs entirely in your browser. It keeps proper double-entry books – every entry has equal debits and credits – so your trial balance, profit and loss statement and balance sheet are always ready. Small businesses get invoices, bills, bank reconciliation, inventory, fixed assets and a period-close checklist. Families get envelopes, bills, shared costs, debt payoff plans and net worth in plain words.

Private by design

Your books are stored only in this browser, in its IndexedDB storage. Nothing is uploaded, there is no account to create, and the workspace makes no requests to other servers. The flip side is that you are in charge of your backups: download a backup file regularly (it can be encrypted with a passphrase) and restore it on any device.

Exports and templates

Every report exports to Excel, Word, PDF or CSV, and the close screen builds a ZIP pack for your accountant. If you prefer working in a spreadsheet, the Excel template library has protected, formula-checked workbooks for ledgers, cash books, invoices and budgets.

What it does not do

The workspace is a record-keeping tool. It does not file tax returns, send e-invoices, connect to your bank or calculate payroll taxes, and it is not a substitute for an accountant. Many people use it to keep tidy books through the year and then hand the accountant pack to a professional at year end.

Where to start

Choose the business page if you invoice clients or sell products, or the household page for family money. Both open the same workspace; you can keep separate books for each and switch between them. Open the demo company first if you would like to look around before entering your own numbers.
